First Indie Music Stage at Red, White & BOOM!
June 20, 2014

As some of you know, I am a part of a promotions company called Bus Stop Promotions. We bring quality artists to Columbus' best music venues. This year we are fortunate to have been given the Nationwide Arena Stage for Red, White & BOOM! Being in a band who has played Red, White & BOOM! for the past eight years, we've come to know quite a bit about the inner workings of the festival. The sound is always top knotch, the stages are big, and stage production is almost always great. There is a built-in crowd, but they're not there necessarily for the music. Cover bands fill the stages along with a sprinkling of local independent original bands.
This year we wanted to do something different. We wanted to make the first ever (to our knowledge) local independent music stage! We invited original local bands to fill the stage from 3-11pm. The stage lineup is killer! Starting the day is Kid Runner, followed by Erica Blinn & The Handome Machine, The Rust Belt Rumble Family Band, Angela Perley & The Howlin' Moons, Jared Mahone, The Wet Darlings, Nick D' & The Believers, and MojoFlo will be playing before and after the fireworks.
Not only will the stage be filled with local music, but we will be handing out free music sampler cards featuring a FREE song from each band! I can tell you that no other stage will be doing that. In addition to that, we will be having local musician, Trey Pearson from Everyday Sunday, as our DJ between bands, creating a fun, danceable atmosphere. We hope you'll come out and join us at the Nationwide Arena Stage, located on the plaza just outside the front doors of Nationwide Arena. It's going to be a fun day of loving local.
Music sampler cards made possible by: Yelp, Greater Columbus Arts Council, Music Loves Ohio, The Small Business Beanstalk, Gateway Film Center, D.P. Dough, Mysterioso Rock Art, Hilltop Wellness & Chiropractic, Public House, Matt Holley Design, and Thirty-One/Carmen Withrow.
